PGP (Graduation plans) were sent home during the week of January 17th and needed parent signature. Review this plan using the HISD Career Readiness website. http://www.hisdcareerreadiness.org/ . Navigate to PLANS at http://www.hisdcareerreadiness.org/plan/ and either do the "Investigate your interest" to do an assessment of where your interests may lie or go thru the licks below one by one. If you are an eighth grade parent, click on "Plan Your Path" to open up http://www.hisdcareerreadiness.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/CTE-Career-Booklet-8-8-16-updated.pdf and go thru each area to identify the schools that offer courses on where your child's interests lie. Got to page 23 to see whether the path your child chose in the graduation plan matches with the offerings the schools have, especially the 5 schools that your child applied to in the Magnet applications in Phase 1.
Naviance codes were handed out during the January PTO meeting. Very important for future college research. These codes are available with counselor, please contact your school counselor and log into Naviance and get familiar with them early, especially the 6th and 7th grade parents.
